Tinney Sue Heath has a journalism degree, but somewhere along the line she realized that for her, the classic journalistic questions of Who? What? When? Where? and Why? were getting shunted aside by “What if… ?” And thus a fiction writer was born.
Her passionate interest is life in the cities of medieval Italy. It’s a wonderful place to search for stories of the little people, the ignored, the neglected, the forgotten. She especially loves to write about ordinary people who find themselves caught up in extraordinary situations–a jester who inadvertently starts a civil war, a wealthy woman following a holy man who espouses poverty, an enslaved woman trying to make her way in Tuscany though her home is far, far away.
She lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband. The two of them enjoy playing medieval and early Renaissance music on a variety of period instruments. They travel to Italy as often as possible; while research may be the excuse, they also take pleasure in that country’s natural beauty, art, music, food, wine, language, and history, as well as the wonderful people they meet there.
